During times of extreme stress such as a hurricane, flood or other natural disasters, we are on edge for hours and hours during the day and night. We can push through this for a couple of days but not much longer. Eventually, our body will demand that we rest and sleep to recover. Just like Olympic athletes who are injured, if they don’t rest and recover by sleeping, then the damage will be a lot worse.
